  • Abstract:

    Objective To study the effect of different insulin injection sites on the therapeutic effect of elderly patients with diabetes mellitus. Methods From January to October 2018, 160 elderly diabetic patients were randomly divided into four groups: lateral upper arm injection group, abdominal injection group, buttocks injection group and thigh subcutaneous injection group. Static blood glucose was measured by 8 point finger blood glucose, dynamic blood glucose was measured by dynamic blood glucose detection system, and pain degree of elderly diabetic patients was evaluated by visual simulation. The relationship between insulin injection site and the therapeutic effect of elderly patients with diabetes mellitus was detected.Results Compared with the blood glucose of the other three groups, the most significant and the highest blood sugar level of the diabetic patients in the abdominal injection group were 9.4±1.5mmol/L and 6.2±1.4mmol/L, respectively, and the pain of the elderly patients with diabetes in the abdominal injection group was lower. The most suitable insulin injection site for older diabetic patients is the abdomen.Conclusions The effect of abdominal injection on the treatment effect of the elderly patients with diabetes is the most, and the injection of insulin from the abdomen of the elderly diabetic patients can make the patient absorb the insulin smoothly and reduce the pain during the injection of the patient.
